AcreTrader is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Fayetteville, AR to lead our development team in building the most accurate, comprehensive, and usable farmland technical tool available today. Our AcreMaps team is one of three rapidly-growing business units, and we need someone who is excited about helping our developers grow in their careers and can help them further develop technical skill sets. The person in this role will be a mentor, manager, and guide to team members so they can continue on their paths to becoming excellent engineers. About 30% of this role will be people management.
Seventy percent of this role will be hands-on coding. Day-to-day, the Senior Software Engineer will help implement the latest mapping and web technologies to create tools that meet the needs of investors, farmers, brokers, and landowners. Because of this, the person in this role must have front-end and back-end knowledge and be able to make architectural design choices. The person who joins our team in this role will get to build a product from scratch with their voice and their decisions, making an almost immediate impact on our users. AcreMaps aims to be the most comprehensive, accurate, and useful mapping tool for agriculture. There are over 50 million farmland owners in the world that require a better service to explore their land. That includes checking how the land has evolved with satellite imagery, pricing their land at market with a land valuation algorithm, and exploring the underlying agronomic information.
